Your Big Family Tree
When it all started:
As we enjoyed good food, great company and interesting conversation, at a family dinner this Christmas, we started discussing who was no longer with us and where some of our long lost relatives are located. In the past I have always thought it was interesting, but this time I took a new level of interest. After dinner a group of pages came out that had been compiled by my Aunt Karen. The names and dates on the pages all looked familiar, some I recalled, but most had been forgotten. The list of names started with the oldest great-great grandfather that anyone could remember and stopped with the branch where energy ran out keeping up with everyone.
That evening I was thinking about how at one time or another we have all wondered what our roots are and where our families have come from. Family trees are great to reflect on, but the burden for one person to keep all the information up is tremendous unless you have a great passion, but even then for all the family to enjoy it sharing/copying it can become cumbersome. At that point I decided that I would use some of my knowledge and talent to develop a data base with as much connecting heritage as I could. My hope is that this all comes together and everyone who is connected to this heritage with the right technology or access can view and UPDATE this BIG FAMILY TREE.
My research started with that group of pages from my aunt and branched to a binder written by my grandfather. The research will continue with other documents of our heritage, it will also lead to conversations with a number of family members, and it will be compiled back here in our big family tree. The best part is that if you would like to view, add or even update the information you are more than welcome. The only catch is that the BIG FAMILY TREE has detailed information on a number of family members with us and who have passed before us, so I have gone to lengths to keep the information PRIVATE and SECURE from everyone except family members.
